Obama Gets To Keep His “BarackBerry”

BarackBerryThe wrangling is finally over. Now that Barack Obama has been sworn in as President of the United States and Commander in Chief, he has won out. He gets to keep his BlackBerry, or, as it has sometimes been called, the “BarackBerry.”

Of course, the device Obama will be toting around is not quite the same as the one in your pocket. According to Marc Ambinder from the National Security Agency, the BarackBerry cost just over $3,300. Among other things, it will enable the President to encrypt phone calls and view classified documents.

Yet one more piece of evidence that Obama & Co. are heartily embracing technology. Needless to say, Republicans must do the same.
